Sister Gladys
Barnes is the First Lady of Corinth Baptist Church
and the wife of Dr. Ulysees C. Barnes, Sr. She is
a quiet and reserved Christian woman who loves the
Lord and people. One of her ways of showing love
is giving thoughtful gifts to members of the
church family, as well as, to others. One of her
favorite scriptures is, “I will praise thee, O
Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth all
thy marvelous works. Psalm 9:1.
She is very active
in the church, working with the Sunday school,
Missionary Society, and serves as the Minister
Wives Coordinator.
Her ministries
always include a deep interest and concern for
people. She is a
teacher, counselor, guest speaker, and mentor.
She earned a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education from Paul
Quinn College in 1971; Certificate in Mental
Retardation in 1972, and a Master of Education in
Guidance and Counseling in 1974 from Prairie View
A&M University.
Sister Barnes is currently employed as a teacher with the
Temple Independent School District, and has taught
school in the Marlin and Connally Independent
School Districts. She has been working with
children for several years; dedicating much time
and effort in developing them to their full
potential.
Sister Barnes is a
servant of God,
mother, grandmother, and a
friend to mankind.
